Famous Figures Project!
Due: Tuesday, June 3rd
Description: We are pausing to take a look at the influential Chinese figures who have helped shape and create the great nation that we live in! This is largely an IN-CLASS project, so you only have to worry about creating your speech and visual aid at home. Of course, if you use your time wisely in class, you may finish your research early and have time to work on those things in class as well!
Below, I have attached the project description we went over in class as well as the info sheets that were provided for you in class. You will also find the grading rubric for your speech/presentation here. Remember, practice makes perfect! Have fun with your last big Social Studies project of the year!! :)

The Han Dynasty was a time of incredible inventions, growth and progress in Chinese civilization. We will be taking this opportunity to examine some of the Han Dynasty inventions (as well as a few others from Ancient China) that have dramatically shaped the development of society in China and around the rest of the world! Historical Fiction
Most of what we know about them has been deciphered from the remains of oracle bones, brief bronze inscriptions, the royal tombs, and a few historians. But what if there was more to Ancient China than the history can tell us? What if it was YOUR story?!
Using the knowledge you have gained through our study of the Shang - Han Dynasties, you will write a historical narrative, combining their Language Arts writing skills with their ability to apply their knowledge of Social Studies to create one ultimate project!
