Final Exam

Wow - it's been a great year! We have definitely learned and adventured a lot together. I've attached the Study Guide below that was given out this past Thursday. Don't forget to practice your TIMELINE as well! - You need to know the names and dates of all the major dynasties that we have studied: a total of sets of 17 dates, 18 dynastic periods. I hope you enjoy how much you have learned this year - both when we celebrate the end of the course with your final as well as while you're living your life in China and elsewhere!

Yuan, Marco Polo & Ming Test
Monday, May 19th
Be sure to go back and review the Marco Polo worksheet we did as well as your notes. Bring questions on Wednesday for review. If you're stuck, talk about it with your friends, and feel free to drop by anytime during recess or after school to come review with me if you still need help. Happy Studies! Spring Mid-Term

Congratulations! We're about 3/4 of the way through the year, and we have learned a lot!!! And once again, it's time for the celebration of our knowledge...
Attached below is your Study Guide. If you have any questions... 1) Consult your notes & your textbook. 2) Talk about it with a friend! 3) If you still have questions, please come in during recess or after school sometime in the next few days and talk to me. Or simply ask your question on Monday in class, while we are reviewing for the mid-term! Your book, notes, assignments and Do Now’s, your classmates, and your teacher are the best resources that you have while preparing for your exams. Happy Studies! :) - Mr. L

Han --> Sui Dynasties Test
Tuesday, March 11th
From the Fall of the Han Dynasty to the rise of the Sui, this is a time of chaos and change. However, despite all of the violence and instability, there are still great advances in Chinese culture! Make sure to look through the study guide and let your notes be your friend as you prepare for this test! Happy studying! There are some resources under the 'Dynasties' tab on this website for your additional enjoyment, should you desire to go above and beyond in your exploration of Ancient China. I'm posting a complete study guide here for you in a Word document - you have received a hard copy of this study guide in class as well. I will be available in my class after school for the days leading up to the exam, so feel free to drop by if you have any questions. Let the 6 Themes of Social Studies guide the organization of your thoughts - Happy Studying!

6 Themes & Ancient China Test
Wednesday, December 4th
No, your eyes are not deceiving you - you'll be tested on the 6 Themes again! The 2nd quarter is in full swing, but that doesn't mean our themes are any less important now than when we first learned them! That said, early civilization, the Xia, Shang and beginning of the Zhou dynasty are main focus of the test's content. For more details, refer to the Study Guide given in class on Friday.

Mid-term Exam

Study Skills: You've got the notes we've taken in class, the worksheets that you've done for homework, and your Do Now exercises. Combine that with the resources that you can find under the "Map Skills" section of this website, and you will be extremely well-prepared!! Go back and re-read the textbook if you are confused about any of the map skills we studied at the beginning of the year. I'm posting a complete study guide here for you in a Word document, in case you want to be reminded of specific topics. You'll get a hard copy on Monday if you'd like - Happy studying! :)

Map Skills & Geography Test!

Study Skills: Look back on the notes you've taken as well as the discussions we've had and the activities we've done in class. Review your Map Skills Quiz, and hold on to your homework worksheets to study for the upcoming Midterm!!!
I've also posted the Jeopardy below so that you can review further at home :).
Topics: In short, it's a test on everything we've studied so far - a more detailed study guide is below. This will also include the key terms and concepts that were on the Map Skills Quiz. For online practice, go to the Map Skills page of my website and practice your knowledge of the location of the various provinces and other areas of China through some fun games!
--> Locate the 34 areas of China
Know the 4 types of zones:
· 1. Provinces
· 2. SARs (Special Administrative Regions)
· 3. Autonomous Regions
· 4. Municipalities
--> Name and locate the 7 Continents and 4 Oceans
- Yes, I know that technically some people think there is a 5th ocean. It might show up as a bonus question.
